Pedagogical Documentation: A practical tool for Thinking & Decision-Making
Saturday, March 6, 2021. Online. 10:00am to 12:00pm Vancouver BC time
We will discover and discuss the role of documentation – its uses for both adults and children, and the types of documentation that best suit your setting. In particular, we will explore raw documentation, meant not for sharing, but for reflection and response on the part of the educator. This practical form of documentation may help educators who struggle with finding time for more formal approaches. Contact ewa.boss@options.bc.ca for more information.
Foundations and Inspirations from Reggio Emilia
March 18 and 19th 2021, 7am to 10am ADT, online
The approaches used in Reggio Emilia have long been a source of inspiration for educators around the world. Their work is rooted in democracy, relationship, and deep reflection. We will explore the foundations and history of this approach in order to understand how their educators collaborate with children. On the second day, we will examine and discuss inspirations, interpretations, and applications from Reggio Emilia that have been used in international settings.
